A global mission with regional impact
Within the Danforth Center's global mission is a goal to enhance our region by way of furthering our position as a world center for plant science. Creating jobs and an educated workforce is paramount to achieving this goal.

Science Education and Outreach:
We work with K-12 schools throughout the region, providing classrooms with tools and resources that will foster an interest in science and enhance educator practices.

Generating New Science-Based Jobs:
The Bio-Research and Development Growth (BRDG) Park at the Danforth Center provides a home for local start-ups and attracts plant & life science companies from around the country.

Preparing a Skilled Workforce:
Within our laboratories we are training the next generation of lab technicians and scientists through model programs and internships at the undergraduate and graduate level.
